NANA AMA MCBROWN ADDRESSES FALSE ALLEGATIONS LINKING HER TO SUZZY WILLIAMS’ DEATH

Ghanaian actress and TV host Nana Ama McBrown has finally spoken out against long-standing rumors falsely linking her to the death of fellow actress Suzzy Williams. Suzzy, a rising star in Ghana’s film industry, tragically passed away in a car accident in 2005 at the age of 23.

Shortly after the tragic incident, baseless allegations emerged, accusing McBrown of involvement in Suzzy’s death. The rumors were fueled by claims of jealousy and rivalry in the film industry, despite the lack of any evidence. Addressing the issue on her show, Onua Showtime, on Friday, January 24, 2025, McBrown described the accusations as deeply painful and entirely untrue.

“Why would I do such an abominable thing? Suzzy was like a sister to me,” McBrown said, recalling the close friendship they shared. She explained that at the time of Suzzy’s passing, she had just returned from a trip to Italy with the late gospel singer Seth Frimpong. “While in a minibus heading home, I heard on the radio that Suzzy had passed away. I immediately called Kofi Adjorlolo, our senior colleague, who confirmed the news and told me he was at the mortuary where Suzzy’s body had been sent,” she recounted.

McBrown strongly denied the accusations and expressed the emotional toll the rumors had taken on her over the years. “I was devastated when I was accused of having a hand in Suzzy Williams’ death,” she said, calling the claims baseless and hurtful.

Suzzy Williams’ fatal accident occurred on the La-Nungua Highway in Accra while she was traveling with her boyfriend in the early hours of the day. The tragedy shocked the nation and left a void in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

McBrown’s public response serves as a reminder of the damaging effects of false accusations and the importance of respecting the memory of the departed.
