GHANAIAN JOURNALIST IGNATIUS ANNOR BARES IT ALL IN BOLD SHOW OF LGBTQ+ SOLIDARITY

Ghanaian journalist Ignatius Annor has made headlines once again after sharing nearly nude photos on social media in celebration of LGBTQ+ love.

Annor, a former Metro TV broadcaster now affiliated with Voice of America (VOA), reaffirmed his unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community with the bold images posted on January 29, 2025. The photos were accompanied by the caption: “From the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, I adore…” followed by a heart emoji and the LGBTQ+ flag symbol.

The journalist, who publicly came out as gay in 2021, has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana, a country where same-sex relationships remain a highly contentious issue. His post quickly gained traction online, sparking both support and criticism from social media users.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama has declared that the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill—widely known as the Anti-LGBTQ Bill—has effectively lapsed. The controversial bill, aimed at criminalizing LGBTQ+ activities, failed to receive presidential assent before the dissolution of the previous Parliament.

Speaking during a meeting with Catholic bishops, President Mahama described the bill’s failure as an opportunity for a more inclusive national dialogue on LGBTQ+ rights and human freedoms in Ghana.
