HOLLISTAR DUAH-YENTUMI WITHDRAWS LAWSUIT OVER SIC INSURANCE TERMINATION

Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, the recently former Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, has retracted her court petition contesting President John Mahama’s decision to terminate her appointment.

Media reports suggest that her choice comes after an important meeting on February 6, 2025, with major stakeholders in the conflict.

According to mynewsgh.com, reports indicate that a settlement has been achieved to address the issue outside of court. In the course of the resolution, Madam Duah-Yentumi has additionally retracted her legal action opposing the selection of James Agyenim-Boateng as the new Managing Director of SIC Insurance.

The previous MD had originally filed a lawsuit against the company and its newly designated Acting MD, claiming unjust dismissal and neglect of corporate governance protocols.

In her lawsuit, submitted on February 4, she contended that her agreement was established for a four-year duration, scheduled to conclude on January 1, 2028. She asserted that any change to her tenure needed to be approved by the company’s Board of Directors or via a shareholder resolution during the Annual General Meeting.

Since the case has been withdrawn, both sides are anticipated to finalize their settlement conditions privately.
