“GHANA IS A SICK COUNTRY!” – Media Personality Berla Mundi Laments

Berla Mundi, a prominent media personality from Ghana, has recently sparked conversations online about noise pollution issues in the country.

Her comments, which gained a lot of attention, express her irritation with the loud noise from trucks selling goods in residential areas starting as early as 6 AM.

These trucks, especially those selling ‘nkura duro,’ a traditional herbal remedy, blast music and make announcements that disturb people who are either still asleep or getting ready for their day.

Berla criticized this as “noise pollution” and called for immediate measures to address these disturbances in urban areas.

Her statements have led to diverse reactions.

Some people agree with her, recognizing noise pollution as a significant problem in Ghana, while others defend the street vendors, arguing they are just trying to make a living.

Some even suggested that if the noise is a constant problem, Berla should consider relocating to a quieter neighborhood.

She wrote on X “Ghana is a sick country, honestly! Because explain to me why there’s a truck selling ‘nkura duro’ with loud music and announcements as early as 6am on the streets when people are sleeping or getting ready for work….That’s noise pollution…”
