Lydia Naa Deide Tagoe, mother of the late Ghanaian hiplife icon Castro Under Fire, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering maternal love and public resilience.
Her death was confirmed in an emotional Facebook post by her son, McBaby Nana Kwame Martin, who described her as his “best friend” and “angel on earth.” The cause of death has not been disclosed.
“I am broken and short of words, but God knows best. I lost my best friend and my angel on earth this morning,” McBaby wrote. “Rest on, Mommy, forever in my heart… Wherever you are, may God keep you safe.”
Madam Tagoe’s passing comes four years after her son, Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro, was officially declared dead in 2021 seven years after he and his friend Janet Bandu went missing in a jet ski accident at the Ada Estuary in July 2014.
