SONA2025: I WILL NOT CANCEL FREE SHS – President John Mahama Reassures Ghanaians

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his dedication to supporting the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative, promising Ghanaians that his government will persist in its execution.

While addressing Parliament in his State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2025, Mahama alleviated worries regarding the policy’s future with him at the helm.

The Free SHS policy, launched by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, continues to be a significant topic of national conversation, with Mahama’s commitment indicating his aim to maintain the program while tackling its issues.

“Let it be on record that I, President John Dramani Mahama, will not cancel Free SHS,” he declared, drawing cheers and applause from the Majority side in Parliament.
