GHANA FACING DUMSOR AND ESCALATING GALAMSEY UNDER MAHAMA – Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia 2024 electioneering campaign, has raised concerns over the current state of affairs in Ghana under the Mahama-led administration. In a social media post, Aboagye highlighted several pressing issues, including persistent power outages (dumsor), escalating illegal mining (galamsey), and unfulfilled promises by the government.

Aboagye expressed frustration over the return of dumsor, which has left many Ghanaians grappling with unreliable electricity supply. “With a few hours to the reading of the first budget, the country is experiencing power outages,” he stated, emphasizing the impact of the energy crisis on households and businesses.

He also criticized the government’s decision to dismiss Ghanaians employed after December 7, a move that has sparked widespread discontent. Additionally, Aboagye pointed out the government’s failure to fulfill its promise of paying fees for all first-year university students in Ghana, a pledge that was a key part of their campaign.

The spokesperson’s comments come amid growing public dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of critical issues, including environmental degradation caused by illegal mining activities. Aboagye’s post has reignited debates about governance and accountability, with many calling for urgent action to address the challenges facing the nation.

As Ghana prepares for the upcoming budget reading, stakeholders are hopeful that the government will prioritize solutions to these pressing issues to restore public confidence and ensure sustainable development.
