MY HOUSEHELPS STOLE $53,000 IN JEWELRY IN ADDITION TO $410,000, €300,000, AND GHS350,000 IN CASH – Cecilia Dapaah Reveals in Court

Former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah took the stand in court to discuss the theft of her money and valuables by her househelps.

According to Ghanacelebrities.com Cecilia revealed that, in addition to large cash amounts, her househelps stole jewelry valued at $53,000 from her storage room.

Dapaah detailed that the househelps took cash sums of $410,000, €300,000, and GHS350,000.

Having served as the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Dapaah mentioned that she accumulated these assets through three decades of diligent work.

The two former househelps, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei, are charged with stealing the money between July and October 2022.

Furthermore, the first accused allegedly took Kente cloth worth GHS 90,000 and six men’s suits valued at $3,000.

When news of the theft emerged two years ago, Dapaah faced significant public criticism for keeping such large sums of money at home.

Despite this, she was not charged with corruption. Now, she is testifying against her househelps, who could potentially face imprisonment.
