Mzbel, officially known as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, has openly stated that despite her strong ties to the Ga community, she would never hire someone if she knew they belong to the Ga tribe.
She talked about this on the Showbiz A-Z program, where the topic was how Ga-Adangbe people can support each other. Mzbel grew up in Accra Central, speaks the Ga language well, and is sometimes thought to be from the Ga tribe herself.
However, she still chooses not to hire Ga individuals.
Mzbel explained that while she understands the importance of mutual support within the Ga community, her personal experiences have influenced her decision.
In her past hiring experiences, those from the Ga community have ended up being lazy.
She noted that when employing someone from the Ga tribe, they might work for a day or two but soon start skipping work. Often, they provide excuses, such as needing to attend a funeral or another event.
Mzbel observed that many young people in the Ga community seem uninterested in working.
They often seek jobs due to parental pressure, but once employed, they do not put in the effort, eventually leading to losing their jobs.
