People affected by the devastating fire in Adum, Kumasi, have decided not to accept assistance from Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak.
He offered them aid in the form of 1,500 bags of rice, 800 boxes of cooking oil, and soap.
The traders expressed that what they really need is money to help them rebuild their businesses, not food supplies.
However, they accepted help from former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He provided them with GHC 200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement. This contribution is aimed at supporting the reconstruction of their shops, as the fire had caused the destruction of goods worth millions.
