VETERAN JOURNALIST AND VOICE OF AMERICA (VOA) PRESENTER, SHAKA SSALI PASSES ON

The African journalism community is mourning the loss of a legendary voice, Shaka Ssali, the former host of Voice of America’s (VOA) popular program “Straight Talk Africa.”

Ssali’s death has greatly impacted people all over Africa, with tributes and expressions of respect coming from co-workers, friends, and fans alike.

For over 20 years, Shaka Ssali was a very well-known figure in Africa due to his courageous and sharp journalism. As the host of “Straight Talk Africa,” he covered important topics in the continent, such as politics, corruption, social justice, and human rights.
