Some workers at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) are taking part in illegal activities.
They collaborate with “goro boys” to charge extra and unauthorized fees from customers, as stated by Julius Neequaye Kotey, the CEO of the Authority.
During his appearance on TV3’s Hot Issues on Sunday, March 30, Kotey highlighted that while there are ongoing efforts to eliminate middlemen, some staff at DVLA continue to engage in fraudulent behavior.
“We have discovered that some of our own people are part of the ‘goro boys’ who extort money from customers. This is a challenge we are tackling head-on,” he stated.
“The overcharging is not only done by the ‘goro boys’; some of my staff are part of it. I have cautioned one person in Takoradi,” he disclosed.
