DON’T PLAY MY MUSIC ON YOUR STATION AGAIN – Rapper Medikal Blasts TV3 Over Sarkodie Grammy Comments

Ghana’s entertainment scene erupted in controversy today after rapper Medikal unleashed a blistering social media attack on TV3 following a discussion about Sarkodie’s Grammy prospects on the network’s Choices program.

The firestorm began when panelists on Wednesday’s episode suggested the multiple-award-winning rapper’s career had “ended” in terms of Grammy viability. The segment, filmed at Bako Studios and uploaded to YouTube, quickly went viral across Ghanaian music circles.

Medikal responded with characteristic fury in a since-deleted tweet that read:

“Dumbass station, stupid ass admin, foolish boy! Nonsense Camera man, everybody for TV3 ein moda! Make una no play my music again. Kwasiafo) ehiafo), mboa!”

The outburst, mixing English, Pidgin and Twi expletives, appeared to ban the network from playing his music. While not directly defending Sarkodie, industry insiders interpret the rant as solidarity among Ghana’s rap elite against media criticism.

TV3 executives declined comment, but sources confirm the network stands by its editorial content. The Choices episode remains available online, having garnered over 50,000 views in 24 hours.

Music analysts note the incident highlights growing tensions as Ghana’s industry pursues global recognition. Sarkodie, currently touring Europe, has yet to respond. His camp maintains his 2025 album No Pressure remains under Grammy consideration.
