The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, widely referred to as Nana B, has asserted that Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, is exhibiting a lavish lifestyle within a mere 120 days in his position.
He additionally claimed that the CEO of Ghana GoldBod earns a GH₵150,000 clothing allowance and $2000 each day during a 30-day holiday, has access to two official vehicles, and enjoys personal accident and life insurance coverage amounting to five times his salary ( GH₵ 1.5 m x 5 = GH₵ 7.5m), along with other extravagant perks associated with his role.
Nana B alleged that Sammy Gyamfi was riding in a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography worth $350,000.
The NPP claims that Sammy Gyamfi is exhibiting luxury and living a lavish lifestyle.
Henry Nana Boakye also claimed that Sammy Gyamfi uses US dollars instead of the Ghanaian cedi on a daily basis.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye stated, “It may have escaped many observers of this unfortunate incident, but not only was Mr Sammy Gyamfi giving out United States dollars without restraint, but he also engaged in painted opulence just after 120 days in government.
“On the day in question, Mr Gyamfi was being driven in a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography valued at $350,000,” he said.
He added, “It is palpable unethical and a complete betrayal of the public trust for Mr Sammy Gyamfi to receive all these benefits on the back of helping maintain a steady currency, yet failed to have any iota of confidence in the Ghana cedi to the extent of using the US Dollars of daily use”.
