‘THIS CHAPTER IS OVER’ – Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Possible Al Nassr Exit

Football legend signals potential departure as contract nears expiry after mixed season.

Cristiano Ronaldo has ignited speculation about his future in football after posting a cryptic message hinting that his time at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr may be concluding.

Following Al Nassr’s 3-2 loss to Al Fateh on Monday, May 26, 2025, the 40-year-old icon took to social media with a reflective post stating:
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” alongside a photo of himself donning the club’s jersey.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, joined Al Nassr in late 2022 under a record-breaking contract due to expire at the end of June. Fans and analysts alike are now pondering whether this post signals the end of the 2024/25 season or a farewell.

Adding to the uncertainty, Al Nassr finished third in the league and will not feature in next season’s AFC Champions League a development that could influence Ronaldo’s decision.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently mentioned in an interview with popular streamer IShowSpeed that Cristiano Ronaldo might participate in the expanded Club World Cup, starting on June 14, 2025. Infantino revealed a unique transfer window for the tournament, suggesting that Ronaldo’s future club affiliation might yet change before the competition.

“There are discussions with some clubs. So, if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup, who knows?” Infantino said.
