MY GOVERNMENT PRIORITIZED ASHANTI REGION WITH ROADS, HOSPITALS AND JOBS – Fmr. Prez. Nana Akufo-Addo
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, recently paid a courtesy visit to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, at their residence in Nima, Accra.
During the visit, former President Akufo-Addo reflected on his administration’s development priorities, emphasizing the significant investments made in the Ashanti Region.
“I want to put it on record that my government prioritized the Ashanti Region across multiple sectors, including roads, hospitals, schools, and job creation,” he said.
Akufo-Addo highlighted that over 13,000 kilometers of roads were built nationwide during his eight-year tenure, with the Ashanti Region alone receiving approximately 2,200 kilometers—representing 15% of the total.
He also referenced healthcare advancements such as the ongoing construction of the mother and child wing at the Rebecca Foundation Hospital, along with the completion of the refurbished old maternity block.
“From infrastructure to healthcare and education, these projects reflected our commitment to the Ashanti people’s progress,” the former president added.
