ELON MUSK AND DONALD TRUMP DESCEND ON EACH OTHER AS THEIR ALLIANCE CRUMBLES OVER THE PASSAGE OF THE ‘ ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT’

The once-strong alliance between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump has dramatically unravelled following the passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

This $1.6 trillion legislation, championed by Trump, introduces substantial tax cuts and slashes spending on social programs, while eliminating federal incentives for electric vehicles (EVs).

Musk, who had served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, publicly condemned the bill as a “disgusting abomination” and criticised its rushed passage through Congress without adequate review.

He also denied having prior knowledge of the bill’s contents, countering Trump’s claims that Musk was well-informed.

In response to Musk’s criticism, Trump expressed deep disappointment, suggesting that Musk’s objections arose only after learning about the elimination of EV tax credits, which directly impact Tesla.

Trump further accused Musk of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome” and hinted at terminating Musk’s government contracts and subsidies.

The feud escalated when Musk alleged that Trump is mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files, implying that this connection is the reason for their non-disclosure.

The fallout has had immediate repercussions: Tesla’s stock plummeted nearly 10% amid the public dispute. Musk, who had invested $250 million in Trump’s 2024 campaign, now contemplates forming a new political party.

Meanwhile, some Republican lawmakers, including Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee, have sided with Musk, criticizing the bill’s excessive spending and lack of transparency.

This schism highlights a significant fracture within the Republican Party and raises questions about the future of Musk’s political influence.
