YOU BUILT YOUR STUDIO WITH A WOMAN’S MONEY – Kwaku Manu Slams Okatakyie Afrifa

Ghanaian actor and media figure, Kwaku Manu, has openly voiced his dissatisfaction with broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa due to supposed threats directed at him during a recent episode of Afrifa’s For The Records show.

During a tense broadcast segment, Okatakyie Afrifa charged Kwaku Manu with trying to gain financially from wealthy individuals such as Ghanaian entrepreneur Ibrahim Mahama.

He likewise warned of revealing what he termed as plots by the Kumawood actor to win the favour of affluent individuals.

The conflict between the two intensified after Kwaku Manu recently called on former President John Dramani Mahama to oversee media freedom in Ghana.

Kwaku Manu specifically demanded measures against people like Twene Jonas, whose ascent to fame has been characterised by fierce verbal assaults on notable individuals.

Okatakyie Afrifa, a strong supporter of free speech and a recognised critic of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), objected to Manu’s request, igniting the current exchange of statements.

Reacting to the threats, Kwaku Manu didn’t hold back. “Where I’m from, you can’t threaten or warn me. You’re not God. I see you to be a spoiled child who lacked discipline growing up,” he said in a response video.

He also condemned Afrifa for creating what he referred to as a deceptive public image.

“You’re now tasting fame, so it has gotten to your head. You’re nobody. You’re an emotional blackmailer,” Manu fired back.

The actor also criticised Afrifa’s political ties and claimed reliance on outside financial assistance.

“I don’t rely on women, unlike you, whose new studio was funded by a woman and the party,” he added, alluding to Afrifa’s reported ties to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
