KWESI APPIAH TARGETS CHAN 2024 GLORY WITH SUDAN AFTER DRAMATIC QUARTERFINAL WIN

Sudan’s head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has set his sights on guiding the Falcons of Jediane to their first African Nations Championship (CHAN) title after steering them to the semifinals in dramatic fashion.

The Ghanaian tactician, who masterminded Sudan’s penalty shootout triumph over Algeria in the quarterfinals, believes his side has what it takes to go all the way.

“Our goal is beyond just participation. We aspire to achieve the African title,” Appiah told CAFOnline ahead of their semifinal clash with Madagascar on August 26.

The former Black Stars coach praised the grit and determination of his players, describing the unwavering support of Sudanese fans as a crucial motivating factor.

“Millions of Sudanese people follow us, and they also support us, so I say it frankly: we aspire to achieve the African title,” he added.

The semifinal showdown against Madagascar will be staged at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with kickoff scheduled for 16:30 GMT.

Appiah, who has transformed Sudan into a competitive force since taking charge, now has the chance to cement his name in African football history by delivering the CHAN 2024 crown.
