“I’M A METROSEXUAL MAN, AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING GAY” – Singer Mr Drew Clarifies

Ghanaian singer and performer Mr Drew has stepped forward to clarify his identity and lifestyle, explicitly stating that his metrosexual identity is separate from his sexuality.

In a recent interview, the “Case” hitmaker embraced the term “metrosexual” to describe his dedication to self-care, grooming, and fashion.

“I take time and I invest a lot into self-care, grooming, and then my lifestyle when it comes to fashion, going to the gym, working out, you know, doing other things,” Mr Drew explained. “So yeah, I would consider myself a metrosexual man.”

He directly addressed the common misconception that links a man’s investment in his appearance with femininity or homosexuality. “No, I think that people have a wrong perception when it comes to being a metrosexual,” he stated, pushing back against potential backlash.

This is not the first time the artist has had to address public speculation about his persona. In 2021, Mr Drew was forced to debunk rumors about his sexuality, which he attributed to him “acting feminine for the fun of it.”

His latest comments serve as a definitive clarification, reinforcing that his groomed appearance and playful on-stage characrter are conscious choices related to personal style and self-expression, not indicators of his sexual orientation. By doing so, Mr Drew adds his voice to a growing conversation about redefining modern masculinity in the African entertainment industry.
