Seven ministerial nominees are scheduled to undergo vetting today, January 30, 2025, by the parliamentary appointments committee, including Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Samuel Nartey George, and other key appointees.
The process will begin at 8:00 a.m. with Rashid Pelpuo, the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment.
Following him at 9:00 a.m. will be Murtala Mohammed, the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology. At 10:00 a.m., Samuel Nartey George, the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, will take his turn before the committee.
Kofi Adams, nominated to lead the Ministry of Sports, will appear at 11:00 a.m. The committee will then take a break and resume at 12:30 p.m. with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the Minister Designate for the Ministry of Transport, will face the committee at 1:30 p.m., followed by Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, at 2:30 p.m. The day’s vetting will conclude at 3:30 p.m. with Mrs. Charity Gardiner, the Minister Designate for the Ahafo Region.
Vetting Continues on Friday, January 31, 2025
The vetting process will continue on Friday, January 31, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with Salisu Be-Awuribe Issifu, Esq., the Minister Designate for the Savannah Region. Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Minister Designate for the Western North Region, will follow at 9:00 a.m.
At 10:00 a.m., Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP and Minister of State for Government Communications, will appear before the committee. Joseph Nelson, the Minister Designate for the Western Region, will take his turn at 11:00 a.m., followed by Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP and Minister Designate for the Ministry of Health, at 12:00 p.m.
The committee will break for lunch at 1:00 p.m. and resume at 1:30 p.m. with Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Minister Designate for the Bono Region. Francis Owusu Antwi, the Minister Designate for the Bono East Region, will be vetted at 2:30 p.m., followed by Edumoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, the Minister Designate for the Central Region, at 3:30 p.m.
The day’s proceedings will conclude at 4:30 p.m. with Puozuing Charles Lwanga, the Minister Designate for the Upper West Region.
