I WAS ATTACKED BY MY COLLEAGUES AFTER I MADE MY FIRST HIT WITH ‘YENKO NKOAA’ – Edowodzi

Singer Raymond Gbede, whose stage name is Edowodzi, has revealed that his extended absence from the music business was caused by spiritual attacks from his peers following the release of his breakout song, Yenko Nkoaa, in 2011.

In an interview with Nana Adjoa Arthur, host of Yenko Fie on Connect 97.1 FM, Edowodzi talked about his difficulties following the release of the aforementioned successful song.

“I suddenly fell sick after 1 signed a contract to tour the USA and 19 other countries after I released ‘Yenko Nkoa’, but I lost the deal due to my ailment.”

Edowoji said that some Ghanaian musicians, whose names he omitted, utilized juju to end his career.

He continued by saying that he had to put his faith in God in order to be saved and that his prolonged bed rest was the result of this weird disease.

Edowodzi continued that he made the decision to take a break from my music profession because of what he went through in 2011.

“It’s not easy to be a musician in Ghana. If you are not spiritually strong, you will regret ever becoming a musician. After visiting several churches, it was revealed that some colleagues in the music industry were responsible for my suffering. I nearly died, but God saved me. Music in Ghana is a matter of life and death,” Edowodzi continued.

However, he promised his fans that some new singles would be released in 2023.

“I’m currently working on two new singles. Hopefully, they will be out next year.”
