POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR ACTRESS PATRICIA BOATENG OVER ALLEGED ROLE IN KUMASI ROBBERY
Suspect reportedly posed as nurse to help armed robbery gang leader evade arrest

The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for Kumawood actress and entrepreneur Patricia Osei Boateng over her alleged involvement in a robbery case that led to the death of Andrews Amankwa at Ohwim Tigo Junction in Kumasi.
According to a report shared by Crime Check on Facebook and sighted by NKONKONSA.com on February 26, 2026, Patricia Osei Boateng is believed to be the wife of a suspected armed robbery gang leader known as Duku, who was allegedly linked to the fatal robbery.
Police sources indicate that Duku was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire with officers following the robbery incident.
Authorities allege that Patricia Boateng assisted her husband in evading police detection by posing as a nurse to help him bypass security checks. The report further claims that she may have fled the country and is believed to have travelled to Dubai after some of the alleged robberies.
“The police are on a manhunt for Patricia Osei Boateng, the wife of suspected armed robbery gang leader Duku, for her alleged involvement in several robberies. According to the police, Duku was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire after a robbery linked to the death of Mr. Amankwa,” the Crime Check post stated.
It further alleged that she helped her husband disguise himself as a nurse and later travelled abroad.
Background
The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, confirmed on Monday, February 23, 2026, that four suspects had been arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of Andrews Amankwa.
According to the IGP, a special investigative team was immediately constituted after the incident was reported. The team comprised the Ashanti Regional Commander, the Regional Intelligence Team, the Anti-Robbery Unit, and the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the CID Headquarters.
The first breakthrough in the case came on February 18, 2026, with the arrest of a suspect identified as Akwesi Manu, who was found in possession of the deceased’s Samsung mobile phone.
Investigations are ongoing as police intensify efforts to locate and arrest Patricia Osei Boateng to assist with inquiries.
