KAFUI DANKU, SAM GEORGE ADDRESS BIMBO ADEMOYE’S COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT WARNING TO GHANAIAN TV STATIONS
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA), Kafui Danku and Sam George, the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, have vowed to assist Nigerian producer and actress Bimbo Ademoye regarding the unauthorised airing of her films on TV stations in Ghana.
This follows Bimbo Ademoye expressing her frustrations on Instagram, mentioning that the officials take action.
George has recognised Bimbo Ademoye’s worries, mentioning that he will consult with his colleague responsible for TV content to resolve the unapproved airing of her films.
He confirmed that the government is dedicated to enforcing intellectual property laws in Ghana.
“My attention has been drawn to your post thanks to the tag. I would be raising the issue with my colleague minister responsible for overseeing television content.
“I, however wish to assure you that our government is very respectful of intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same. I believe Ghana and Nigeria have so much we can continue to collaborate on for our mutual benefit,” he wrote.
Kafui Danku responded, reassuring Bimbo Ademoye that immediate steps are being taken to tackle the copyright infringement problem.
“Hi ma’am, my management and I are working on putting a stop to this. You should see definite actions in a couple of weeks,” she noted.
