Afia Schwarzenegger, a radio and television personality, has filed a lawsuit against Chairman Wontumi, the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman.
Attorney Maurice Ampaw has been added to the complaint. The two were countersued by Afia for GHC 8,000,000.
Afia Schwarzenegger was previously sued by Chairman Wontumi for GH$2,000,000 for defaming him.
The lawsuit was brought about by Afia Schwarzenegger’s claims in a made-public video that she had sex with Chairman Wontumi.
Maurice Ampaw, the attorney for Chairman Wontumi, has publicly refuted Afia’s allegations and urged her to stop.
The statement incensed Afia, who then cursed Chairman Wontumi on social media.
Through his attorneys, Chairman Wontumi has since filed a slander lawsuit against the mother of three.
Chairman Wontumi requests certain things in the writ that is sent to Afia “Two million Ghana cedis ($GH 2,000,000.00) in damages are awarded for defaming the plaintiff. Costs with legal fees included.”
However, Afia stated in a 2022 Saturday United Showbiz interview that she has listed Maurice Ampaw as a respondent in two different defamation lawsuits.
“My lawyers have received their writ and we have entered an appearance. Also, we have filed a GH¢4 million suit at the Accra High Court. Eventually, we will serve them. I have sued Wontumi TV for GH¢4 million and sued Maurice Ampaw for GH¢4 million,” she said.
Afia Schwarzenegger claims that Maurice Ampaw has defamed her, and as a result, she has sued both him and Wontumi TV, which gave him the platform to do so.
“Maurice Ampaw says he has evidence that John Mahama has bought a house for me, he said Wontumi told him that I had sex with a dog and that I have various boyfriends I travel around with among other despicable things. So he will prove that in court. Wontumi TV also gave them the platform to publish falsehoods against me. They have sued for GHC2 million, I and my lawyers have also sued for GHC8 million. Let’s test the laws because for me, I believe in the judicial system and so we will meet in court,” she added.
