Popular Kumawood actor Agya Koo has stirred controversy after releasing a video appealing for repairs to the Akyem Adubease Road, with social media users accusing him of political hypocrisy.
In the clip, which went viral on April 1, the actor real name Kofi Adu highlighted safety concerns caused by overgrown bushes and sand heaps narrowing the road’s shoulders. He urged authorities to utilize the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to address the issue.
However, the appeal backfired, as critics questioned his timing. Many noted that Agya Koo, a vocal supporter of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), remained silent during the party’s eight-year tenure despite the road’s longstanding poor condition.
