Despite Media, in collaboration with the TMW Foundation and support from various corporate institutions, listeners, and viewers, has provided relief items to residents of communities affected by the spillage from the Akosombo Dam.
The relief items, valued at over Ghc 200,000, included various essential supplies like mattresses, sachet water, sugar, rice, oil, mosquito nets, water purifiers, liquid soap, first aid boxes, mackerel, clothing, sanitary pads, toilet tissues, and more.
The Member of Parliament for the South Tongu Constituency, Hon Wisdom Kobena Woyome, commended Despite Media and the TMW Foundation for their unique and valuable contribution.
He highlighted the importance of first aid boxes, which will be placed at various CHPS compounds to provide immediate medical assistance to those in need.
The relief items will be distributed to displaced individuals who can return to their homes once the water has receded.
The donation drive received significant support from various entities, including SIC Insurance Company Limited, Ondo Health and Safety, JA Biney, Special Ice, X Mineral Water, Quash Ice, Old Students of Aburi Girls 1971 teaser group, Siaka Phones, and numerous individuals.
