AKOSUA ARHIN CROWNED MISS MALAIKA GHANA 2025 WITH VISION TO TACKLE YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
The 20-year-old University of Ghana student triumphed in a fiercely competitive pageant

In a glittering ceremony that celebrated both beauty and brains, Akosua Arhin was named Miss Malaika Ghana 2025 at the National Theatre on Saturday, November 22, clinching the title with her compelling vision to address the nation’s youth unemployment crisis.
The 20-year-old University of Ghana student outperformed nine other finalists in a contest themed “Defining the Future,” which emphasized cultural pride, intellectual rigor, and social advocacy. Her victory secures her a brand-new car, an educational scholarship, and the coveted role of ambassador for the prestigious pageant.
The final night featured three demanding segments designed to test the contestants’ depth and poise: a Cultural Display, a Rhetoric and Intellectual Round, and a Final Q&A for the top three. Akosua distinguished herself in the intellectual round by presenting a data-driven analysis of youth unemployment, citing Ghana Statistical Service figures that place the general rate at 13.4% but highlight a rate exceeding 25% for urban youth aged 15-35.
Her winning proposal, the “4E Initiative: Empowering Youth Through Enterprise and Education,” pledges to establish skills training hubs focused on vocational and digital expertise. She aims to train 500 young women in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions during her reign.
The pageant, which drew a sold-out audience, underscored a shift toward recognizing contestants with strong academic credentials and tangible plans for social impact. Akosua Arhin now steps into a role that merges celebrity with civic responsibility, championing a cause that resonates deeply with Ghana’s next generation.
