The legal team of embattled Ghanaian actress, Akuapem Poloo born Rosemond Brown has filed an appeal to the Court of Appeal praying the court for bail pending appeal on the grounds set out in the supporting affidavit.
An Accra Circuit Court in April this year, sentenced Akuapem Poloo to 90 days imprisonment after she changed her plea for displaying n@ked pictures of herself and son on social media.
However, she was granted bail after one week of her imprisonment by the Circuit Court.
The High Court presided over by Ms Justice Ruby Aryeetey held that the 90-jail term was appropriate and not excessive and the same should not be distributed.
Lawyers of Akuapem Poloo filed the application to the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court on Monday, December 6, 2021 a few days after her initial appeal application was thrown out of court and ordered by the Judge to serve and finish her 90-days jail term.
According to the application, court is to be moved on Wednesday the 15 of December, 2021 at 9am for Counsel for Akuapem Poloo may be heard.
