Award-winning Ghanaian singer, Wendy Addo, known publicly as Wendy Shay, has applauded the Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party government for what she says has been a great performance.
According to her, she was impressed with the president’s performance so far, especially, his many policies that are benefiting ordinary Ghanaians.
Wendy Shay mentioned the free SHS policy among others which she noted that many Ghanaians have benefitted from.
According to her, her family has benefitted so much from the free SHS policy as her cousins and siblings in Ghana are going to SHS for free. Diverting to the creative arts industry, Wendy Shay said that Akufo-Addo has done a lot for the creative arts industry to boost the sector’s growth.
She is noted as saying: “The NPP has done well. Nana Addo has done so well. Look at what they have done to the creative arts industry. Not that alone, but also the free SHS policy. The NPP has done a lot of good work”.
Despite all her praise-singing, the “Astalvista” singer went on to appeal to the government to come to the aid of musicians financially.
According to her, many musicians and playersin the entertainment sector in general, including herself, have lost a lot of money due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She called on Akufo-Addo to offer some stimulus to the industry players to help them recover from the blowback.
