The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed concerns about the president’s extravagant international excursions, and the Presidency has responded by taking a different stance.
According to a statement by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo traveled from Paris to Brussels, Belgium by train.
President Akufo-Addo traveled to Brussels using a commercial mode of transportation.
First of all, Mr. Arhin noted, President Akufo-Addo took a scheduled flight on Sunday, June 19, from Accra to Paris.
Even the Air France flight, he claimed, stopped at Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on its way to Paris.
“In fact, all of President Akufo-Addo’s 12-member delegation traveled commercial,” Mr Arhin said in the statement.
“Upon arrival in Paris, President Akufo-Addo and his delegation travelled via train to Brussels to attend the European Development Days event, where, on Tuesday, 21st June 2022, he was a keynote speaker, and later held meetings with the President of European Investment Bank on two key subject areas.”
