Baidoo told reporters shortly after he cast his ballot on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, that his confidence is based on comments he got during his campaign.

Speaking with locals during the campaign helped him realize how popular he is, he continued. “You can determine where the support is when you pay close attention to their worries and answers. I am confident because of this,” he said.

Baidoo also praised voters, security forces, and the Electoral Commission for making sure the process was calm.

“The exercise has been very peaceful, and that is what we prayed for. I have visited most of the polling stations, and I am impressed by how the EC officials, the police, and the electorates have conducted themselves,” he said.

In Akwatia, over 50,000 registered voters are using 119 polling places to cast their ballots. The by-election comes because Ernest Yaw Kumi, the former member of parliament representing the area, passed
