Ghanaian singer Ama Nova has expressed her frustration over what she describes as an unfulfilled agreement with fellow artiste Fameye. According to Nova, despite making a financial commitment for Fameye’s promotional support, the musician failed to promote their collaborative song, Odo Different, on his social media platforms.
Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Ama Nova disclosed that part of their verbal agreement involved Fameye sharing promotional content related to the song’s release. However, she claims he did not fulfill this obligation.
“Based on the initial agreement, it would have been nice if he shared my artworks so that it would look like he’s in support of the release,” she lamented. “A lot of people have messaged me, saying they checked Fameye’s page and found nothing about the song. It’s heartbreaking.”
Allegations of delayed-release and unfulfilled commitments
Ama Nova further revealed that the song’s release had initially been scheduled for October last year but was postponed due to Fameye’s request. She claimed that after paying an agreed sum for promotional posts and a music video appearance, attempts to reach him for follow-up discussions proved futile.
“We agreed on an amount that included a music video, and I paid the said amount,” she explained. “There was no written contract, but there are WhatsApp conversations and a receipt that proves payment was made.”
The singer also provided a voice note, in which she alleges Fameye stated he would participate in the video shoot if she met his financial demands. However, Nova says she struggled to arrange a meeting with Fameye’s team upon returning to Ghana.
“Since I got back, I’ve been trying to get a meeting with his team, but I keep getting excuses that they are busy or on the road,” she added.
Fameye’s team responds
According to Nova, Fameye’s manager later informed her that the musician wanted to support her project but was focused on his own music at the time. As a result, she was advised to delay her release until Fameye was ready.
“Now the song is finally out, and there’s still no post on Fameye’s page,” she expressed with disappointment.
Despite the controversy, Odo Different, featuring Fameye, has officially been released. However, it remains unclear whether Fameye will address the allegations.
