AMASAMAN COURT SETS FEBRUARY 5 FOR JUDGMENT IN AGRADAA’S APPEAL

Former priestess seeks to overturn 15-year sentence for fraud

The Amasaman High Court has scheduled February 5, 2026, as the judgment date for the appeal filed by Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, who is challenging her 15-year prison sentence for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned evangelist, was convicted on July 3, 2025, after being found guilty of deceiving members of the public through a money-doubling scheme. The case, which gained national attention, involved multiple victims who alleged they were tricked into handing over large sums of money during her church services.

In her appeal, Agradaa contends that the original trial was flawed, arguing that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and that the sentence was excessive given the circumstances.

Her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, speaking to the press after court proceedings on Wednesday, January 21, revealed that the delay in judgment was partly due to technical issues related to electronic exhibits and the Attorney-General’s Office not complying with previous court directives.

“We opposed the A-G’s request for more time to file written submissions, but the court has adjourned the matter to February 5 for final judgment,” Mr. Baffour said.

The court also granted the Attorney-General’s Office the opportunity to submit any final written addresses before the scheduled date.

The February ruling will determine whether Agradaa walks free or continues to serve her custodial sentence.
