Apostle Solomon Oduro and his wife, Counsellor Charlotte Oduro, shed light on the tumultuous breakdown of their 16-year marriage. Apostle Oduro, who first filed for divorce in April 2024, submitted an amended petition on November 29, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and alleging a series of disturbing incidents that he claims have left the marriage beyond repair.
According to the petition, Apostle Oduro accused his wife of emotional and physical abuse, estrangement, and financial neglect. He revealed that their marital relationship had deteriorated to the point where they had engaged in sexual relations only 12 times throughout their marriage. He further alleged that his wife no longer found him attractive, refused to involve him in important family decisions, and even turned their children against him.
One of the most striking claims in the petition is that Counsellor Charlotte Oduro allegedly began cooking her meals in the master bedroom, refusing to eat food prepared by the family chef. Apostle Oduro also detailed instances of alleged physical and emotional abuse, claiming that his wife removed her wedding ring and left their matrimonial home at least 20 times over minor disagreements. The petition also touched on financial matters, with Apostle Oduro accusing his wife of failing to contribute to the household despite running multiple successful businesses. He claimed that she launched her entrepreneurial ventures using proceeds from their second child’s naming ceremony, selling items such as oil, communion supplies, and clothing at their church. Over the years, she reportedly amassed significant wealth, purchasing luxury vehicles, including a Range Rover and a Jetour 4×4, as well as acquiring land in Katapor, near Kwabenya.
Despite her financial success, Apostle Oduro alleged that she neglected her responsibilities at home, leaving him to shoulder the burden of providing for the family. He revealed that he had gifted her a Suzuki 4×4, a Toyota Camry, and a brand-new Mercedes Benz, which she later sold.
The petition also included claims that their children informed Apostle Oduro about their mother’s alleged relationships with other men, including an ex-partner. These revelations, coupled with the ongoing tension, reportedly pushed the marriage to its breaking point.
Apostle Oduro is seeking the dissolution of their ordinance marriage, stating that the traditional marriage has already been annulled. He maintains that the marriage has irretrievably broken down due to the alleged abuse, estrangement, and financial neglect.
