ARCHBISHOP DUNCAN WILLIAMS LEADS CONGREGATION IN PRAYERS FOR A PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER

The General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, has led his congregation in a heartfelt prayer for a smooth and peaceful transition from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration to John Dramani Mahama’s government.

During a recent church service, Archbishop Duncan Williams emphasized the importance of a harmonious handover process and urged his congregants to intercede on behalf of the outgoing president.

“I want us to pray for the outgoing president that he will exit in peace, not in chaos. It is a prayer that we owe him. He’s had two terms that we’ve always prayed on. Pray for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that his exit will be peaceful and not chaotic. Pray that anything that will cause his exit to be chaotic be blocked,” the Archbishop said while leading the congregation in prayer.

The prayer session comes amidst allegations from political commentator and lecturer Prof. Ransford Gyampo, who claimed via Facebook that the president might be considering declaring a state of emergency to delay the transition of power. These allegations have fueled speculation about potential resistance to the handover process.

While the specific reasons for the Archbishop’s focus on this prayer topic remain unclear, it underscores the importance of maintaining peace and unity during the political transition.

The call for prayer reflects growing concerns among some observers about ensuring Ghana’s democratic principles remain intact as the country navigates this critical period.
