ARSENAL ENTER CONTRACT TALKS WITH THOMAS PARTEY AMID MAJOR SQUAD CHANGES

Arsenal Football Club has confirmed ongoing contract negotiations with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey as the team prepares for significant changes ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Partey’s current deal expires on June 30, 2025, fueling widespread speculation regarding his future at the club. However, Arsenal’s official retained list has now confirmed that discussions with the 31-year-old are actively underway.

Since joining Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020, Partey has become a pivotal figure in the midfield. Last season marked his most consistent campaign to date, with a career-high 52 appearances across all competitions. He contributed four goals and three assists while anchoring Mikel Arteta’s midfield during Arsenal’s pursuit of domestic and European silverware.

In an official statement, Arsenal addressed Partey’s contract status alongside other key players:

“The following players’ contracts also expire on June 30, 2025. Discussions are ongoing, and once matters are finalised between all parties, we will communicate in due course: Chloe Kelly, Thomas Partey, Michal Rosiak.”

Alongside these ongoing talks, Arsenal announced the departure of several senior players whose contracts will not be renewed, including Raheem Sterling, Kieran Tierney, Neto, and Jorginho. These exits signal a major squad overhaul as the club seeks to refresh its roster.

The upcoming transfer window will be crucial for manager Mikel Arteta as he looks to strengthen the team for a renewed challenge in the Premier League title race and an improved campaign in the UEFA Champions League. Partey’s contract situation remains a central piece of Arsenal’s summer strategy.
