Ghanaian Afrobeat artist Wendy Shay has shared the difficulties that some musicians encounter regarding the reuse of their outfits.
In a recent interview with blogger Zionfelix, the acclaimed musician stated that public observation frequently complicates matters for celebrities who wish to wear the same outfit more than once.
Wendy Shay disclosed that being a public figure comes with significant pressure to uphold a refined image, particularly since both admirers and critics meticulously scrutinize celebrities’ attire.
“It’s really hard to repeat clothes as an artist or celebrity because fans tend to criticise you.
Sometimes, they make it seem like you don’t have enough resources or aren’t doing well financially. Fans have a way of pointing out when you repeat clothes, and it can attract unnecessary trolling or negative comments,” she remarked.
The “Survivor” hitmaker also emphasized that in today’s social media-dominated environment, where images and videos are perpetually shared and stored, the clothing that celebrities wear is quickly observed and analyzed.
She mentioned that at times she combines her outfits to avoid it being too noticeable that she is wearing the same items.
