Kwame Asare Obeng, who goes by A Plus, claims that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was too frightened to voice his opinions during the time when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was in charge.
In an interview with Adom FM, A Plus talked about how Akufo-Addo’s leadership was very strict, to the point where even influential leaders like Otumfuo kept quiet.
A Plus, a former musician, was very upset with how the New Patriotic Party (NPP) often criticizes the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
He questioned why they feel they have the right to speak so freely after how they governed before.
He called on the NPP to give the new leaders a chance to repair and improve the Ghanaian economy, which he believes they had damaged.
In addition, during the same interview, A Plus accused the NPP of increasing their involvement in illegal mining, or “galamsey,” to cause trouble for the current NDC government.
“Ever since the NDC won power, [NPP] decided to intensify their galamsey efforts to disgrace John Mahama. NPP operatives are the only people still engaged in galamsey in this country…it is a deliberate plot to sabotage the GOLDBOD initiative,” he said.
