Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the General Overseer of Perez Chapel International, has said that if Christians want to see God’s power in 2024, they need not drink alcohol.
In his sermon, Archbishop Agyinasare advised his followers to prioritize prayer if they wanted the coming year to be rich in blessings and the might of God.
It was one of the ten items Jesus listed in his sermon that people can use to encounter God’s power.
He quoted Ephesians 5:18 which reads “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual”, to support his call.
“Stop drinking alcohol. Stop being high with whisky and being high with beer. If you want to be high, be high with the power of the holy ghost.”
He cautioned them against using unscrupulous methods to obtain wealth, pointing out that some people join covert organizations and carry out rituals only to obtain wealth at whatever costs.
He said that although Christians should have a spiritual desire to make money and contribute a portion of it to God’s work, they shouldn’t do so by making blood sacrifices or joining covert organizations.
The great man of God said that in order for Christians to feel God’s power and for God’s plan to be accomplished, they must abstain from all forms of wickedness and live godly lives.
He asked the young women to quit pursuing married men and instead concentrate on giving themselves over to God and praying for their husbands, while he counseled the married men to stop chasing after side chicks.
Speaking in tongues is one way that the Holy Spirit baptizes Christians, according to him.
He asserted that while it is possible for people to ridicule those who speak in tongues, the Bible acknowledges that those who do so are speaking to God rather than to humans.
