Samini, the Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall artiste has made a statement following the loss he incurred at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
He has stated boldly that winning awards is not the ultimate for him now and for that matter doesn’t excite him anymore since they wouldn’t help him at this stage of his music career.
The dancehall legend missed out on two significant awards at the just-ended VGMAs and quickly pointed out that it is crucial for those coming up to win such an award since it will go a long to help them gain confidence in what they do.
During an interview after the event, he mentioned that gone are the days when he loved to be awarded and would have been hurt if it was those days but he is now content with what he has achieved in music so far and a losing an award won’t take anything away from his success in music.
Samini was nominated in the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Song categories but lost them all to Stonebwoy and KiDi.
