Kennedy Agyapong, a controversial politician and businessman, claims he is not bothered by the candidacy of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Trade and Industry Minister John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten to run for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer position (NPP).
Kennedy Avgyapong believes he has what it takes to defeat the two political giants who are seen as the front-runners in the contest.
The NPP is anticipated to hold its national delegate conference to determine a new flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo resigned since he is ineligible to run in any election under the 1992 constitution.
But Mr. Kennedy, the third contender in the contest, claims that he is gaining popularity among Ghanaians, particularly the younger generation.
In addition, he stated that if given the authority to run the government, he is willing to assist the youth in the growth of the nation.
Kennedy Agyapong firmly asserted in an interview with MAK TV that he will defeat his rivals for the position of the NPP’s next flagbearer.
“I’m not afraid of Alan and Bawumia. Because at the end of the day we’re all going to campaign on whatever each of us has done for the party. I know I’ve done a lot of things for NPP and I believe the grassroots will consider that and vote for me”, he added.
