The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 presidential candidate of the party was going to lead the party on a six-week national “Thank You Tour” beginning Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
The regional tour will start from the NPP national headquarters and proceed to the various 16 regional capitals.

The regional tour will start from the NPP national headquarters and proceed to the various 16 regional capitals. A statement dated Monday, April 21, 2025, signed by Nana Boakye, National Organiser of the NPP said Dr Bawumia will be joined by the national leadership of the NPP.
The party has outlined the timetable for the tour as moving from Accra to the Western Region on Saturday, April 26, and ending in the Central Region on June 4, 2025. The statement indicated that the national council of the party has approved the tour which is “intended to convey the sincere and heartfelt appreciation of the party, the presidential candidate, and the campaign team to the rank and file of the party, we well as the general public, for their unwavering support, encouragement, and commitment throughout the 2024 electoral period..
The theme for the tour is, “In all things, give thanks to God.”
The NPP lost the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), losing many parliamentary seats to reduce their strength in Parliament from 136 seats to 88.
The party since the defeat on December 7, 2024 has been strategising on how to come back, by first constituting a review committee led by Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye, a former Speaker of Parliament and MP who submitted its report last week,
The party has since indicated that the report was confidential and it was not going to discuss it publicly. It is following this development that it has announced the thank you national tour.
