BLACK SHERIF CANNOT FILL O2 ARENA NOW, BUT KING PROMISE CAN – UK-Based Event Promoter, Alordia

The founder and CEO of Ghana Music Awards UK (GMA-UK), Nii Ofori Tackie aka Alordia, better known as Alordia, has thrown his support behind King Promise as the Ghanaian artiste with the potential to fill the prestigious O2 Arena in the UK.

On May 7, 2024, he claimed in an interview on Joy Prime that King Promise would draw both domestic and foreign crowds to his performances.

Alordia added that King Promise is currently more likely to get a bigger audience in London than Black Sherif.

“If King Promise is doing a show right now, I bet you he will get some people from foreign countries to come.

“Now, as we speak… Black Sherif? No. King Promise can even get more crowd than Black Sherif in London right now,” he asserted.

This, however, comes as a far cry from an earlier claim he had made two years ago.

In a September 2022 interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Alordia stated that Black Sherif could fill the O2 Arena due to his global appeal.

He claimed that Black Sherif could pack the O2 Arena with the help of the entertainment industry working together.

“The only person that can fill the O2 Arena is Black Sherif because his music is everywhere. Our artistes go there and sit there alone. They do not involve indigenous promoters who will help them reach out to people to come for the events.

“We can do this but we have to come together and work,” he said on Hitz FM.

Alordia’s remarks follow the Ghanaian rapper Medikal’s sold-out performance at the 2,800-seat Indigo O2 in the UK on May 3, 2024.

Many people in the industry wondered whether it was time for Ghanaian musicians to perform at the 20,000-seat O2 Arena after the show’s success.
