According to Saddick Adams, a sports journalist ,who is frequently referred to as “Sports Obama,” has asserted that the Black Stars of Ghana don’t stand a very good chance of winning the World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars will play Portugal on November 24 before playing Uruguay and South Korea in the opening matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which begins on Monday, November 21.
“This is why we are the only ones organizing national prayers. We are the only ones among all the nations going to the World Cup officially organizing national prayers. We know our problems. Apart from prayers, there is nothing that can make Ghana say we are favorites in any of the games.
“I want people to understand that we are just going to the World Cup, any draw or win is a bonus . . . if we raise our hopes too much, we will be disappointed,” he said while making his submissions on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ panel discussion programme.
“Ghana doesn’t have any chance going into this World Cup,” he stressed.
The Head of the Sports at Angel FM also noted that “among all the teams going (to the World Cup), we are the worst. According to FIFA rankings on those who have played the qualifiers and their form, we are last among them”.
