The Black Stars of Ghana were given $50,000 for finishing third in the Kirin Cup event in Japan in 2022.
The Black Stars defeated Chile in the third-place match, capturing the bronze medal on penalties, after losing 4-1 to Japan in their initial encounter.
Following a scoreless first half, the four-time African champions defeated the Chileans 3-1 in a penalty shootout.
As a build-up for the FIFA World Cup in November and December 2022, Japan has planned a four-nation tournament called the Kirin Cup, which will feature Ghana, Tunisia, and Japan’s Samurai Blues.
