BLACK STARS TO BEGIN TRAINING FOR JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA FRIENDLIES TODAY

Coach Otto Addo has named a squad featuring three new debutantes as the team prepares for the Kirin Cup without several key European-based stars.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the Black Stars will commence training on Wednesday, November 12, in preparation for their upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

The team will first compete in the Kirin Cup against Japan on Friday, November 14, before facing South Korea in a subsequent match.

Head Coach Otto Addo has unveiled his squad for the two fixtures, which is notable for both its omissions and new inclusions. The team will be without several key players, including captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, and Alexander Djiku.

In their absence, Addo has handed maiden senior call-ups to three players:

  • Prince Kwabena Adu: A striker from the Czech Republic, formerly of Bechem United.
  • Kelvin Nkrumah: A winger from Ghanaian Premier League side Medeama SC.
  • Prince Osei Owusu: A forward for CF Montreal in MLS, who began his career in Germany.

According to sources, the invited players began reporting to camp on Tuesday, with the entire squad expected to be present for the first training session on Wednesday. These matches present a critical opportunity for the new faces to impress as the Black Stars continue their rebuilding process.
