BLACK STARS WILL IMPROVE BEFORE WORLD CUP – Otto Addo Assures
Despite back-to-back defeats to Japan and South Korea in the November international window, the coach remains confident the team will be ready for the global tournament next summer.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has moved to reassure Ghanaians, promising that the national team will show significant improvement before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This assurance comes on the heels of a disappointing international window where the team suffered consecutive losses, falling 2-0 to Japan and later to South Korea.
Speaking to the press after the defeat in Seoul on Tuesday, Addo acknowledged the team’s current shortcomings but emphasized the time available to rectify them. “For the World Cup, there are still some months to go for us to improve,” he stated.
He pinpointed several areas needing work, saying, “Surely also in all aspects, in pressing and creating chances, but also not allowing chances, there’s still room to improve, especially for Ghana.”
Addo gave credit to their opponents, describing Japan as being on a “very high level” and acknowledging that South Korea “did well” in their encounter.
The Black Stars will discover their group-stage opponents for the World Cup at the official draw on December 5. The team is scheduled to regroup next March for further preparation as they build towards the tournament in the summer of 2026.
