In their second friendly game of the March international break, the Black Stars were defeated by Uganda on Tuesday afternoon in Marrakech.
Even though Jerome Opoku and Jordan Ayew gave Ghana two leads in the match, the team ultimately had to settle for a draw.
Otto Addo substituted Ebenezer Annan, Denis Odoi, Abu Francis, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Jojo Wollacott for the starting lineup that faced Nigeria in five different lineups.
Jordan Ayew was the first to attempt a shot at the Ugandan goalie as Ghana got out to a fast start and created opportunities. But his close-range attempt at a free kick was blocked.
Still, the forward for Crystal Palace set up the first goal. In the seventh minute, he sent a corner kick, and Jerome Opoku met it, scoring to break the tie.
Eight minutes later, Wollacott’s stop from a header was not handled well, and the opponent scored on the rebound to make it 2-2, rewarding the Cranes for their efforts.
The game finished in a draw because neither of the two teams was able to score in the last moments of the match.
After losing to Nigeria in the opening friendly, Otto Addo’s team was unable to win any games during the March international break.
