BREAKING: VICE PRESIDENT PROF. NAANA JANE OPOKU-AGYEMANG RETURNS TO GHANA AFTER MEDICAL LEAVE
The Vice President of the Republic, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has officially returned to Ghana after completing a period of medical leave abroad.
Her return on Thursday, May 22, 2025, marks the conclusion of a medically recommended recovery period during which she underwent treatment and rest under close supervision.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang was warmly welcomed at the Presidential Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama, senior government officials, and members of her close advisory team. She was later received at the Jubilee House where a brief welcome ceremony was held.
The Vice President’s return is expected to pave the way for her full resumption of duties, including high-level engagements, cabinet meetings, and policy discussions in the coming days.
A distinguished academic and former Minister of Education, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang continues to play a critical role in national development and public policy formulation, particularly in the areas of education, gender equity, and governance.
Her office has indicated that an official schedule of activities will be released soon to outline her upcoming national engagements and public appearances.
